“Two of our team members attempted to assist the shopper and were assaulted by the aggressive lady. Our colleagues had been brave and maintained their professionalism despite repeated assaults by the angry lady,” said the post.

The retailer says legal advice is being sought.

Since the video of the incident was shared online, the store says it has received heartening messages from members of the public voicing concerns for its colleagues.

“Most importantly, we would like to commend our two very courageous colleagues who stood up for others in this unfortunate incident. Thank you and bravo girls!,” says the post.

A nearby florist said it was disturbed by the staff’s predicament it wanted to send flowers to them.
