Mandarin Gallery boosts trust’s turnover

A good performance from Mandarin Gallery mall helped boost quarter-one results for OUE Hospitality Trust.

Second-quarter turnover for the trust’s retail segment was up S$1 million (US$712,047) from a year ago, thanks to a higher average occupancy rate of 94.7 per cent, compared with 82.9 per cent a year earlier.

The trust says it expects a tough retail scene in Singapore will continue and has introduced “lower base rents and higher turnover rents” for some tenants.

As well as the mall, the trust’s portfolio includes the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport and Mandarin Orchard Singapore hotels.
