Themed zones

Dedicated to fine jewellery, the Jewellery Show will feature a Hall of Fame with more than 30 brands including Elle (Hong Kong) and Lao Feng Xiang (China). The Hall of Extraordinary will showcase more than 100 top-tier jewellery companies, while Designer Galleria houses cutting-edge and radiant designer brands, and the World of Glamour showcases the craftsmanship of Hong Kong jewellers.

Other themed zones include the Hall of Jade Jewellery, the Antique & Vintage Jewellery Galleria, Treasures of Craftsmanship, the Hall of Time and Wedding Bijoux. A new addition is the IT Solutions for Jewellery zone.

At the other event the focus is on raw materials for the jewellery trade including loose diamonds, precious stones, semi-precious stones and pearls. Continuing to support the show are such companies as Alain Boite SAS, MID (HK), Novel Collection and Paul Wild. There will be three themed zones, namely the Hall of Fine Diamonds, Treasures of Nature and Treasures of Ocean.

Design competition

Also featured in conjunction with the exhibitions is the annual Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition, organised by the Diamond Federation of Hong Kong, HKTDC, Hong Kong Jewellers’ & Goldsmiths’ Association, Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association, and Hong Kong Jewellery Manufacturers’ Association.

In its 19th edition, the competition aims to honour local craftsmanship and creativity. With the theme “Vibrant Hong Kong”, the competition takes entries in two groups – open and students. Submissions are evaluated on creativity and innovation; aesthetics, craftsmanship and wearability; and relevance to the theme. Open entries will be judged on marketability as well.

On the judging panel this time will be celebrity model Eunis Chan, Design Council of Hong Kong chairman Professor Eric Yim, Elegance Jewellery International CEO Ricky Lam, Emperor Jade Timepiece MD Donald Tung, Eternity Manufacturing director Ken Lo, Galtiscopio executive director Emme Wong, Gouten Consulting director Francis Gouten, Polaris Jewellery Manufacturer MD Dennis Ng, and SpyHenryLau founder Henry Lau. The results will be announced in February with winning entries to be showcased during the Jewellery Show.

Also part of the Jewellery Show is a multi-faceted program for industry insights. This includes jewellery parades, seminars, buyer forums and networking events. TrendVision Jewellery + Forecasting will give a seminar on trends.

During the concurrent period of the fares, a complimentary shuttlebus service will run between AsiaWorld-Expo and the HKCEC.
