Womenswear label Duchess & Co has launched in Singapore with a pop-up showroom at 313@Somerset Mall.

It is the first step toward expansion in Southeast Asia by the label, founded in Malaysia four years ago. Its 900sqft (84sqm) boutique showroom offers women’s apparel, shoes and accessories.

“We started out as an online fashion portal but opened our first retail store within four months,” says co-founder Wendy Tai. After opening a second store, the retailer spent two years building and developing its brand identity.

“Opening a pop-up showroom boutique in Singapore is a significant achievement as it marks our first overseas venture,” says Tai.

To mark the milestone, two new ready-to-wear collections for the festive season will be launched at the pop-up, says co-founder/creative director Phang Ju Nn. These will be on display for a week, starting with a private cocktail event on Friday evening.

Open until the end of next September, the Duchess & Co showroom will introduced fresh collections every two months.
