Milan Furnishings closure draws Consumers Association complaints

Seven complaints have been received by the Consumers Association of Singapore (Case) about the closure of Milan Furnishings, a company that was registered on April 12 last year.

Most of the complainants said the delivery of their furniture had been delayed for several months, and they had recently found out that the shop in Woodlands had closed and the business was uncontactable.

They had paid a deposit or in full upfront for their furniture, amounting to about $14,000 in total.

Case aims to solve complaints by mediating between consumers and companies, but it also not been able to contact Milan Furnishings, reports The Straits Times.

Further similar complaints have also been found on Milan Furnishings’ review page on Facebook, where on April 26 the store posted a message saying it was “feeling sad”.

Dear all Milan customers, the shop is closed now,” the post read.
