Gucci Singapore to stock luxury homewares collection

When luxury fashion house Gucci announced last July it would launch a range of homewares in limited stores around the world, some Singaporeans were disappointed the Lion City wasn’t on the list.

“Thankfully, they’ve changed their mind,” reports independent women’s fashion and beauty magazine Female Singapore. Gucci Singapore has revealed it will be stocking the collection of chairs, porcelain vases, mugs, tables, candles, foldable tables and trays and more from this month.

The new Gucci Decor line features tableware and candle holders by Gucci-owned heritage porcelain brand Richard Ginori, upholstered dining chairs, metal trays and folding tables, folding screens and decorative cushions.

Working with Florentine porcelain specialist Richard Ginori, founded in 1735, Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele has designed a range of patterned crockery featuring a green-and-white herbarium decoration. There are also idiosyncratic candle holders with Gucci patterns, such as geometric chevrons and the talismanic “eye” design. Animals from the Gucci Garden – bees, butterflies and cockerel heads – are rendered in porcelain in 3D topping the lids of pots. Small incense holders feature 3D stag beetles, and bees support incense sticks.

Gucci Singapore will stock incense burners from $330, candles from $440, cushions from $1720 and vases from $5680, among other items.

Female Singapore reports the original range has been expanded to include medieval era-inspired porter’s chairs commonly used in olden times by servants and gatekeepers positioned at the entrances of great estates. Other new designs added to the collection available at Gucci Singapore include foldable tray tables, vases, mugs and candle holders.

Last year, Gucci Decor announced a progressive global roll-out in Gucci flagship stores, online and at selected independent specialty stores.
