Amazon reveals date for Prime Day, Singapore site’s first

Amazon has revealed this year’s Prime Day dates.

Amazon says the annual Prime Day event that offers Prime members access to savings and discounts from both big brands and small local businesses will be held on October 13 and 14.  

In Singapore, this year’s Prime Day, will see the launch of e-gift cards, and 10 new categories with millions of products added to Amazon.sg. New deals will launch every four to six hours, and a shopper personality quiz will provide relevant shopping tips to make the most of Prime Day.

This year is the first that Amazon extends Prime Day to Singapore, an event which has become traditional in markets the US-headquartered company operates in worldwide.

“This year’s Prime Day is an amazing opportunity for Prime members to enjoy savings with thousands of deals, explore our new expanded selection and get their holiday shopping done early, all from the comfort of their homes,” said, Henry Low, country manager, Amazon Singapore.

“In the midst of an unprecedented year, we’re excited for Prime members in Singapore and worldwide to discover new ways to support local retailers and save big on everything they need and love.”

Prior to October 13, starting Friday customers can shop exclusive early offers in categories including baby and toys, pets and groceries, PC and gaming, home and kitchen, consumer electronics and health and beauty.
