Hongkong Land opens Chongqing retail development

Hongkong Land has launched lifestyle retail development ‘The Ring, Chongqing’ in Southwest China as part of its new retail series of properties under ‘The Ring’ branding.

Spanning seven floors and featuring 74,000sqm net leasable area, the retail destination is located within the Liangjiang New Area’s Jinzhou Business District and next to Hongkong Land’s residential development Yorkville.

Featuring an “urban-nature” theme, The Ring Chongqing houses an 24-metre airborne waterfall and a 42-metre-tall botanic garden, the largest indoor garden yet in the country. The development also includes sports- and culture-themed interactive spaces.

“Our established ‘Central’ series was created to inspire a luxury lifestyle, while the brand-new retail series ‘The Ring’, aspires to define the future of retail and commercial developments, combining nature with urban living,” said Robert Wong, CEO of Hongkong Land.

The Ring Chongqing is also Hongkong Land’s first wholly owned commercial development in Southwest China.

“The Ring Chongqing together with Yorkville will offer the local community a new regional hub for living and business,” said Ling Chang Feng, executive director of China Property at Hongkong Land.

He said it will serve as a pioneering model which will be rolled out in other Mainland China cities in the future.
