Spanish apparel brand, Bimba Y Lola, is set to expand its presence into Greater China, with 30 points of sale scheduled to open within the next five years.

The launch will be via a joint venture with Hong Kong-headquartered fashion retail and brand management company, ImagineX Group, a subsidiary of Lane Crawford.

Bimba Y Lola will launch a flagship online shop on Tmall and a WeChat mini program, before rolling out its first physical store next year. The company said it plans to open 30 points of sale across 15 major cities in China, including Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Chongqing within five years.

“ImagineX is the perfect partner for Bimba Y Lola in a market of great strategic importance, yet truly unique and complex to navigate,” said Uxia Dominguez, founder and president of Bimba Y Lola. “ImagineX has the right multichannel coverage across all Greater China to fully unlock the potential of our brand.”

Founded in 2005, Bimba Y Lola has stores across 20 countries, including the UK, France, Singapore, and South Korea, together with a presence in 43 markets through digital channels. Bimba Y Lola will join ImagineX’s portfolio of 25 global brands, including Salvatore Ferragamo, Canada Goose, BA&SH, and Club Monaco.

“We see huge potential for this personality-driven, exciting brand on the back of the impressive growth outside of Europe since its inception in Spain, some 15 years ago,” said Alice Wong, president of ImagineX.

“I believe that Chinese consumers, especially the Gen Zs and Millennials, have an increasing appetite for international accessible-luxury and affordable brands with cutting edge design, which truly stands out from the crowd.”
