Chinese art toy retailer Pop Mart has launched its first US pop-up store as part of its strategy to broaden the offline channel after its recent European and New Zealand debuts.

The store spans 2148sqft inside California’s upmarket shopping mall South Coast Plaza, housing a variety of artistic and popular collectable toys by renowned designers, including Kenny, Pucky, Ayan, and Skullpanda.

“The US ranks first in the global toy market,” said Justin Moon, VP of Pop Mart and president of Pop Mart International. “In the art toy industry, the consumer market in the US also has huge potential and influence. The influence of American pop culture on a global scale cannot be underestimated, and young people advocate individual expressions.”

In one of the company’s key markets, the US physical launch will help the brand to further strengthen its presence in the lucrative global art toy retail market, which is expected to be worth US$41.8 billion by 2024 according to Frost & Sullivan.

Pop Mart has more than 350 stores globally and delivers products to 53 countries and regions due to the strong support of its supply chain.
