JD’s The J Shop launches its first flagship store

JD’s reimagined fashion and lifestyle unit, The J Shop, has opened a new flagship store in Southwest China’s Chengdu, the first of its kind in the country. 

The 1000sqm J Shop store is located in the popular Chunxi Road shopping district, bringing together a selection of 2000 products from around 400 brands, ranging from cosmetics, apparel, lifestyle, sports, luxury fashion and watches. 

The store also features several immersive experience areas featuring different themes for social media posting and live streams.

GM of JD Beauty, Terry Wang, said JD’s capabilities in digital supply chain and omnichannel will help The J Shop quickly complete new product launches and product circulation based on dynamic changes in consumer trends and product adjustments by brand merchants. 

The J Shop flagship will offer on-demand delivery services, which allow customers to get their purchases within an hour if their homes are within a 5km radius of the store. 

According to the company, the flagship store in Chengdu was completed with in-depth cooperation between JD and the Chinese cosmetics brand Perfect Diary.

Senior VP of JD and president of JD Fashion and Lifestyle business group, Carol Fung, said The J Shop will collaborate with more brands to “actively embrace offline business and create new growth value”.
