Hong Kong-based luxury goods company Dickson Concepts has appointed its executive director Pearson Poon as the company’s new COO, taking effect next month.
Poon joined Dickson Concepts in 2016 as GM before being named the company’s executive director two years later. Since then, he has been overseeing the group’s retail business in Hong Kong and Mainland China while being a member of the company’s investment committee.
Under his management, Poon turned around Dickson Concepts’ Mainland China business from a loss to a profit, with sales growing 90 per cent during the past two years. Meanwhile, in Hong Kong, Poon was behind the digital evolution of the Harvey Nichols business, with innovation in non-fungible tokens (NFTs) revealed in April and the revamp of Harvey Nichols’ beauty loyalty program in the city.
“Over the past three years, he also successfully negotiated significant commercial support from suppliers and principals,” the company said.
Pearson Poon recently made the top 10 Asia’s most influential list at Inside Retail Asia, a collection of the region’s changemakers, rulebreakers and innovators.
Prior to Dickson Concepts, Poon served at the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs (Asia). He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Cambridge.
