US burger chain Five Guys will launch its first store in Macau next year, after announcing its expansion in South Korea earlier this month.

The Five Guys Macau store will be located at The Venetian Macao and is opened in collaboration with local retailer Foward Fashion, which operates more than 200 retail locations in Mainland China, Macau, Hong Kong, and Taiwan and sells domestic and international apparel brands.

Five Guys says its first Macau flagship will have the same red and white tile design as the brand’s other locations.

Founded in 1986, Five Guys, a Virginia-based business, is famous for its big-sized burgers, freshly produced patties fried in peanut oil, and its flexible ordering choices, which it says enable customers more than 250,000 different ways to customise their orders.

In 2003, Five Guys began its expansion in the US and also planned for an international growth strategy. The chain now has more than 1700 locations worldwide and operates across the US, Canada, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

The US-born burger restaurant opened its first outlet in Asia in Hong Kong in 2018. Since then, it has continued to expand its footprint in other Apac regions. Five Guys also built its first outlet in Mainland China last year, in Shanghai.
