South Korean streetwear brand Nerdy (Whoisnerdy) has expanded into Vietnam, with the opening of the first bricks-and-mortar store under a partnership with local distributor Maison Retail Management International (MRMI).

The first Nerdy store is housed at Vincom Dong Khoi, in downtown Ho Chi Minh City, offering a modern and youthful design with street characteristics and decorated in two strong colours: purple and yellow.

The store offers a range of clothing and accessories including sweaters, t-shirts, jeans and bags.

Nerdy was founded in 2017 with the ideals of “freedom, self, and identity”. The brand emphasises uniqueness and it now has stores in South Korea, Japan, and Vietnam. Nerdy also has an online store offering international shipping.

Another South Korean fashion company, Acme De La Vie (ADLV), opened its first physical store in Vietnam last December in collaboration with local distributor Tam Son International. The store is located in the newly opened Thiso Mall, which will also house the first Vietnam store for Hong Kong lingerie brand 6ixty8ight.

In just 20 years, Vietnamese fashion retailer Maison Retail Management International (MRMI) has established a network of more than 120 retail locations for 18 renowned global fashion brands.

Besides Nerdy, MRMI represents international brands including Coach, The Kooples, Ted Baker, Pedro, Puma, Charles & Keith, and Skechers.

Mai Son Pham, MRMI’s founder and CEO, told Inside Retail in September that the company’s goal was to have 350 locations and more than $400 million in revenue by 2027.
