The executive director and MD of Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group Mainland China, Chan Sai-Cheong, is to resign at the end of this month.

The company said the retirement was “on account of personal reasons of a private nature”. Wong Siu-Kee, the executive director and MD of the company’s Hong Kong, Macau and overseas businesses, will take over Sai-Cheong’s current role and responsibilities, including overseeing China’s operations and strategy.

“Kent will be leading a newly established task force aimed at supporting the continued growth of our business,” the company said in a statement.

Sai-Cheong joined the group in 1985 and was appointed as executive director in 2011 before being re-designated as MD of the Mainland China business in 2021.

“Cheong Gor has been a wonderful colleague and friend for 38 years. We thank him for his tireless dedication, outstanding leadership and contributions to the company in helping to drive business in Mainland China,” the company said.

Earlier this month, the Hong Kong jewellery group appointed Annie Wong as its new COO to oversee the development of end-to-end value chain efficiencies, strategic planning as well as product and inventory management.
