Starbucks Thailand has celebrated its 25th anniversary and plans a significant expansion of its store network in the country.

The company intends to have 800 stores by 2030, including eight Community Stores, reinforcing its commitment to accelerating growth in one of Southeast Asia’s dynamic marketplaces and deepening close-knit ties with local communities.

Starbucks Thailand has grown to 456 locations in 25 years, with more than 4300 partners and workers and more than 800,000 customers every week.

In addition, Starbucks Thailand is renovating its Reserve Chao Phraya Riverfront location in IconSiam to become the region’s second Starbucks Community Store, following the first one that opened in 2013 in the Langsuan neighbourhood of Bangkok.

The new store aims to deliver a “meaningful impact” on local communities through a profit-sharing business model. According to the brand, the venue strengthens its goal to open 1000 Community Stores by 2030 globally.

“This new Community Store at IconSiam speaks to our brand promise to help nurture the limitless possibilities of human connection and move towards a more sustainable future, as we continue to focus on the wellbeing of our coffee farming communities in the northern part of Thailand,” said Nednapa Srisamai, MD of Starbucks Thailand.

Starbucks also reportedly aims to introduce drive-thru formats for its upcoming stores as part of this long-term project.

Last year, Starbucks announced its rapid expansion strategy in Thailand, which calls for the opening of 30 new coffee shops every year until next year.
