Hong Kong-based classic burger chain Honbo will launch its first physical outlet in Singapore on July 28, marking its first expansion into the international market.

Located at Chijmes, the store serves American-style burgers with handmade patties and potato milk buns using a recipe collaborated with French baker Eric Kayser.

In addition, Honbo reportedly uses USDA prime-grade beef from Holstein and Angus cattle reared in Wisconsin – known for their marbling – to make brisket-and-chuck burger patties.

“Instead of loading a burger up with excessive extravagant ingredients, we prefer to take the no-frills approach by focusing on perfecting the classic burger,” the brand says on its website.

“This is apparent throughout every aspect of our brand DNA and is especially reflected in the simplicity of the menu.”

The brand is known for its dishes including Honbo 1.5, Scallop burger, Cheeseburger, and Sweet Potato Fries.

Honbo, founded in 2017 by former doctor Michael Chan, currently operates six locations in Hong Kong.
