US denim brand True Religion is set to enter four new Asian markets – India, Indonesia, South Korea and the Philippines – as part of its global expansion plan.
True Religion’s expansion – which also includes launches in South Africa, Lebanon and Qatar – will take the brand’s store count outside its home market to 26. New stores will open in Mumbai, Jakarta, Manila and Johannesburg, during Fall, with more new stores in Shanghai, Beijing and Seoul set to open in Spring.
The move follows the brand’s expansion into China earlier this year under an exclusive partnership with Aurorae Group.
“Global expansion into high growth markets, anchored by our expansion into China, remains a key strategy for us for the near future,” said Michael Buckley, CEO at True Religion.
The label aims to open a mix of 65 freestanding stores and shop-in-shops in China by 2026 and reach 108 stores by 2028. The first of these will open in the first quarter of next year in Beijing and Shanghai.
The company said store formats will vary by market, ranging in size from 1000 to 1500sqft to shop-in-shops. All stores will feature True Religion’s core collections along with key items and a locally curated selection to appeal to specific market preferences.
