Luxury fashion brand Balenciaga has launched its first store in India, with ambitions to expand its retail footprint in one of the world’s largest markets.
The store, which is located inside Jio World Plaza Mall, is a collaboration between Balenciaga and Reliance Retail. It has a large selection of ready-to-wear collections for men and women, as well as shoes, bags, accessories, eyewear, and jewellery.
Balenciaga’s “raw architecture” retail concept is featured on the ground floor, and the storefront is completed with brushed concrete floors, white walls, metal shelving, aluminium tables, and industrial light fixtures.
Reliance Industries unveiled the Jio World Plaza Mall in the heart of Mumbai earlier this month, integrating with the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, Jio World Convention Centre, and Jio World Garden.
The Plaza is intended to be an exclusive retail, leisure, and dining destination. The retail mix spans four stories and 750,000sqft and is home to 66 luxury brands including Cartier, Burberry, Bottega Veneta, Rolex, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Jimmy Choo, and Rimowa.
Jio World Plaza Mall in Mumbai is part of the Jio World Centre mixed-use development.
