Lifestyle media group Hypebeast’s coffee brand Hypebeans will launch its first standalone store in Hong Kong on November 16.

Located at Causeway Bay’s Fashion Walk, the coffee store is inspired by newsstands of New York City and takes up a footprint of just 220sqft. During the opening period, the store will offer coffee and snacks, as well as merchandise.

The cafe, which provides a public area centred on books, reflects the cultural scene that takes place around magazine stands and newsstands. A niche range of magazines is aimed at those seeking a quick read and magazine collectors.

Hypebeans will release a limited edition T-shirt with fun printing of the phrase coffee, doughnuts, t-shirts, magazines, and music, inspired by components of the new location.

The store features a menu influenced by Hong Kong-style coffee and prepared with a blend of coffee beans by world-renowned barista Sawada Hiroshi.

In addition, Hypebeans will deliver its Bomboloni in the flavours of Matcha Brulee and Satay Beef in conjunction with local bakery Dough Beings. The Bomboloni are available only from November 16 to 18, and November 20 to 25.

In 2020, Hypebeast made its first foray into the F&B market with the opening of its first outlet inside the HBX shop at Landmark. The idea for Hypebeans came from the relationship of Hypebeast CEO Kevin Ma and barista Hiroshi Sawada.
