Vietnamese fashion distributor IPPG (Imex Pan Pacific Group) has reached an agreement with China Duty-Free to open three duty-free stores in Vietnam to serve Chinese tourists.

The first store will open this year in Mong Cai City in the northern province of Quang Ninh, near the border with China. The second will open next year in the beachside town popular with tourists, Nha Trang in the Khanh Hoa Province, and the third in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Jonathan Hanh Nguyen, chairman of IPPG, the launch would provide further chances to strengthen commercial trade between Vietnam and China.

IPPG is the first enterprise to establish a duty-free business in Vietnam. It has invested in several border gates and airports as well as duty-free store developments, aiming to attract tourists and promote the tourism industry.

IPPG has also collaborated with major duty-free retailers, including DFS, Dufry, and Lotte.
