Singapore’s Jewel Changi Airport saw higher footfall and sales in the 2023-24 fiscal year, coinciding with the airport’s fifth anniversary.

Footfall rose 26 per cent, with 30 per cent of the visitors coming from overseas – the largest number from China, Malaysia, Taiwan, the US and Indonesia.

Overall sales soared 20 per cent.

“As Jewel celebrates five years of creating a sparkling experience for its visitors, we continue to stay true to our commitment to deliver world-class visitor experiences with our attractions, retail and dining offerings,” Jewel Changi Airport Development CEO James Fong said.

“We are thrilled to announce a series of new flagship store openings and new-to-market brands, as well as a behind-the-scenes tour for the Jewel Rain Vortex that has long captured the imagination of our visitors. New experiences and a series of events and Jewel-exclusive offerings will also be introduced throughout the year.”

Moreover, Jewel’s attractions at the 14,000sqm Canopy Park witnessed a 12 per cent growth in visitor numbers and a 13 per cent increase in sales. The membership base of its Double Rewards loyalty program rose by 10 per cent.

Jewel is set to launch a behind-the-scenes tour “In the Eye of the Jewel Rain Vortex” starting in the second half. The program will introduce participants to the work behind getting Canopy Park ready for operations every morning.

In addition, the Jewel Blooms floral showcase will return from May 24 to August 11.

New flagship stores including Charles & Keith, Fila, Bimba Y Lola, and New Era will open at Jewel this year.
