Swedish fragrance company Byredo has opened its first flagship store in Tokyo, located in Omotesando.

The store will feature the entire range of the brand’s fragrances, makeup, body care products, and home items, along with curated offerings from its Byproduct sub-label

Artists Miriam Eklof and Hemqultur, along with assistants Ulrika Svensson and Ikas Kulturmaleri, have hand-painted the store’s ceiling.

Marta Maas-Fjetterstrom tapestries and rootwood tables by local artisans were made to complement the polished black granite floors and grey hammered furniture.

Commenting on the store’s launch, Byredo founder and creative director Ben Gorham said Tokyo has always fascinated him.

“The city is full of contrasts, where the future and the traditional coexist,” he added.
