Chinese lifestyle retailer KK Group is re-establishing its presence in Indonesia, outlining a multi-brand comeback that will bring X11, KKV, and The Colorist back to the market.

The rollout begins with X11, the group’s trend-culture and collectibles banner aimed at younger consumers through art toys, anime merchandise, and pop-culture goods. The first stores are planned for Greater Jakarta, major cities across Java, Bali, and several regional centres.

KKV, the company’s flagship lifestyle chain with a portfolio of more than 20,000 SKUs spanning home, stationery, beauty, snacks, and fashion, is scheduled to launch next year. It will debut alongside The Colorist, KK Group’s mass-premium beauty brand targeting Gen Z and young millennials.

“Indonesia has always been a key market for us in Southeast Asia,” said Rojen Wu, COO of KK Group international business.

“With KKV, The Colorist and X11, we are committed to building a comprehensive lifestyle retail ecosystem and bringing a refreshed retail experience to Indonesian consumers.”

KK Group plans to develop a network of more than 500 stores across its three core brands. The retailer is also evaluating the introduction of Pet Tribes, its newly launched pet-focused concept in China, along with other potential partner brands, as part of a broader multi-brand strategy for Indonesia.

Longer term, the group envisions operating more than 1000 stores under this expanded brand matrix.

The company’s return comes amid an accelerated Southeast Asian expansion, following new market entries this year in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. KK Group now operates more than 1000 stores in China and more than 150 stores elsewhere across the region.
