Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) is stepping up its Asia expansion strategy with the acquisition of a South Korean hot pot buffet chain and the planned launch of a fast-growing Korean coffee brand in the Philippines.

The group’s 70 per cent-owned subsidiary, Jolli-K Co, has signed a deal to acquire All Day Fresh Co, operator of Shabu All Day, for approximately US$87 million. Shabu All Day was founded in 2014 and has grown to 169 stores across South Korea.

The Korean platform already includes coffee chain Compose Coffee, positioning JFC with a diversified presence across beverage-led and full-service dining segments.

Coffee expansion into the Philippines

In parallel, JFC will introduce Compose Coffee to the Philippines through a master franchise agreement under its subsidiary Fresh N’ Famous Foods, with the first stores expected to open later this year.

Founded in Busan in 2014, Compose Coffee has expanded rapidly to nearly 3000 stores, becoming one of South Korea’s most prominent value-driven coffee chains. JFC acquired a 70 per cent stake in Compose Coffee in 2024.

The Philippine launch signals JFC’s continued push into the high-growth coffee and tea category, where it already operates brands including Highlands Coffee, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and Milksha.

Record network growth backdrop

The twin announcements come as JFC reported record preliminary fourth-quarter 2025 systemwide sales of ₱122.3 billion (about US$2.1 billion), up 12 per cent year on year.

For the full year, the company’s total store network grew 5.9 per cent to 10,341 outlets, marking the highest level of gross store openings in its history. The footprint comprised 3504 stores in the Philippines and 6,837 internationally, reflecting sustained expansion across key markets.

Internationally, JFC operates 576 stores in China, 348 in North America, and 437 across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia (EMEAA). Brand-led growth remains robust, with 985 Highlands Coffee outlets, 1079 The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf stores, 357 Milksha locations, 2972 Compose Coffee stores, and 83 Tim Ho Wan branches worldwide.
