Indian retail advisor expands

India’s first boutique mall advisory company has expanded.

Beyond Squarefeet has introduced a sister company Beyond Squarefeet Mall Management to be headed by chief managing officer Sanjay Prabhu and Susil S. Dungarwal, who will be its ‘chief mall mechanic’.

The new company was created to meet the increasing demand of mall management sector. An estimated 400 malls will be constructed along metro, tier one and tier two towns in the next two to three years across India.

“The amount of response we have got to our advisory services has compelled us to set up the new company focusing on mall management,” Dungarwal said.

Mall management will be the concentration of the new company whereas the old company will continue its focus on mall and retail industry’s advisory.

“Our focus will take up mall management in various tier one and two cities, apart from the metros. We are focused on creating shopping experiences which consumers will love, through managing malls using international techniques with an Indian flavour. Our experience of managing some of the successful malls, across India will surely help us to take this business to the next level”, Prabhu said.

Beyond Squarefeet Advisory, started in 2009 with one person, now numbers 30 staff. The company now has 12 projects in India, Nepal and Qatar and is on track to boost revenue by 500 per cent this year.
