Christian Louboutin debuts in India

French luxury shoe brand Christian Louboutin has made its first foray into India, opening a boutique in Delhi.

The 700 sqft boutique is located at DLF Emporio and features the shoe brand’s Spring Summer 2012 collection – men’s and women’s shoes – and handbags. Also featuring in the boutique is the locally inspired shoe line Bollywood peep-toe pump.

Commenting on the Indian foray, Christian Louboutin’s COO Alexis Mourot said, “India has always been in Christian’s heart as shown by all his trips to the country and his passion for Indian culture.”

“Most of the boutique brands will say that the Indian market has very high potential, and we agree.”

The boutique was designed by principal architect Eric Clough, who created displays with white arched shoe alcoves using multicoloured reclaimed tin from old New England buildings and teardrop glass chandeliers sourced from Syria.

The boutique will offer delivery across the country, in line with other Christian Louboutin stores around the world.

Christian Louboutin shoes are renowned for their shiny, red-lacquered soles and have seen worn by Victoria Beckham, Rihanna, Beyonce and Blake Lively.
