Japanese retailer Aeon is set to expand in China with three shopping malls to open by 2015 in Wuhan city.
The shopping malls will be located in Dongxihu Development Zone and Jiang’an district – to open in 2014 – and in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, to be completed in 2015.
All the three shopping malls will be modelled on Aeon’s Japanese concept and will be carrying Japanese foods and brands.
According to Aeon chairman and global president Motoya Okada, Aeon sees a good market in Wuhan.
Meanwhile, Aeon also established a headquarters in Beijing which starts operatios this week. Its private brand Topvalu is also to be launched in 61 Aeon locations in China on Friday.
