Retail giant Walmart says it will close its stores in Wuxi and Shenzhen cities next month.
“Factors including store location, company strategy and shop performance have led to the adjustment,” said senior director of public relations Li Ling.
Earlier, it denied the reports that it would close stores in the market. Instead, it said it will open stores in Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Suzhou.
Walmart, which has 370 existing stores in the country, was reported last year that it will open 100 stores in China over the next three years.
