Thailand’s Central Retail Corporation has opened the doors of its first department store in Vietnam.

Located within Royal City Vincom Mega Mall, the department store branded Robins spans 10,000 sqm and offers products from brands including Lancome, Clinique, The Body Shop, Mc Jeans, F&F and Samsonite.

Central also operates New Balance, SuperSports and Crocs retail stores in Vietnam.

The Thai retailer says Vietnam is a significant potential market because of its 90 million residents, more than half of whom belong to a workforce with growing purchasing power.

Hanoi, in particular, offers high prospects as the residents’ average income continues to increase.

Central plans to further increase its presence in Vietnam as it seeks overseas growth to offset the dampened demand at home caused by the political turmoil.
