Toms hits Thailand

American shoe brand Toms has expanded into Thailand.

Toms has signed Star Fashion Co as its partner to open stores in Thailand, the first of which recently debuted inside the new Central Embassy shopping mall in Bangkok.

The 100sqm Bangkok store sells eyewear besides shoes.

Hajime Birnbaum, international sales and marketing director for Toms, says taking the brand into Thailand, which he described as a very promising market, is part of the company’s strategy to grow the brand internationally.

He believed the brand will be of great demand in Thailand, a shopping hub in Asia.

The Thai expansion follows its expansion into Asian countries including Japan and the Philippines.

Meanwhile, Star Fashion Co will also bring another foreign brand into Thailand – the American streetwear brand Hurley – set to debut at Siam Square in Bangkok.
