Downtown duty free debut for Cambodia

Cambodians have been promised “an unforgettable shopping experience” when China Duty Free Group opens the nation’s first downtown duty free store on December 30.

The 4500 sqm Angkor Duty Free store will sell a range of travel retail goods, including perfumes, cosmetics, fashion, jewellery, sunglasses, watches, liquor, tobacco, travel accessories, and confectionery.

Over 200 premium and luxury brands from all over the world, including Dior, SK-II, Shiseido, Lancôme, Estée Lauder, Clinique, Burberry, Hugo Boss, Bally, Michael Kors, Longines, Tissot, and Rado, will be on offer to travellers who visit the ancient city of Angkor. As reported, CDFG Cambodia also plans to open another downtown duty free in Phnom Penh in October 2015, both stores owned by its local subsidiary company.

“Angkor Duty Free Store is the most luxurious department store in Cambodia. Thus, the presence of the store provides a great opportunity for all travellers who want to enjoy their trip to Angkor’s ancient world heritage to experience fantastic fashion shopping at the same time,” the company said in a statement.

To celebrate the Grand Opening as well as the international New Year, Chinese New Year, and Khmer New Year, Angkor Duty Free Store will offer a series of special promotions. CDFG Angkor Duty Free Store prices will be between 15 per cent and 35 per cent lower than downtown duty paid prices, CDFG said.

It promised goods would be priced no higher than in duty free stores in Hong Kong and Thailand.
