Hugo Boss sales have soared 15 per cent in the UK – largely thanks to the Grerman brand’s expansion into womenswear.
The high profile menswear brand has engaged New York based Taiwanese-Canadian designer Jason Wu to create a women’s fashion range. Wu was previously perhaps best known as the designer to US First Lady Michelle Obama.
UK profit rose 19 per cent, to £23.8 million in the year to December 31, its sales topping £193 million.
Global sales rose six per cent to €2.6b illion, while pretax profit rose one per cent €437 million.
Analysts quoted in UK media predict Hugo Boss could double its womens apparel sales in the next three years, reaching as much as £500 million.
