Bonjour Bakery Taiwan opens in Hong Kong

Taiwanese Bonjour Bakery & Cafe has opened its first shop outside its home market, in Hong Kong.
It’s the latest in a wave of Taiwanese brands which have announced debuts in Hong Kong in the last few weeks – others include Green in Hand, Guangfuhao and O’Ringo shoes.
Like the other brands, Bonjour Bakery & Cafe says it hopes to take advantage of Hong Kong’s international status to take the brand and its unique bakery skills globally.
Founded 16 years ago, Bonjour Bakery & Cafe has nine outlets in Taiwan selling bread using the latest European and Japanese baking methods and concepts.
Founder Michael Hsu said the Hong Kong store will offer new selections of bread and cakes appealing to Hong Kong customers’ tastes, plus online and group purchase services.
Said Hsu: “Hong Kong is a culinary capital in Asia and a metropolis in the world. We make bread and cakes with passion, and we hope our Hong Kong presence will take our brand to the global stage so that more people can enjoy our bread and cakes.
“Hong Kong’s proximity to the mainland makes it a convenient gateway for access to the mainland market. The city’s convenient transport system and sophisticated logistics infrastructure further appeals to us,” said Hsu.
“Our Hong Kong store will be the base for overseeing our mainland development, responsible for production, sales, marketing and retail operations.”
