Swatch launches art-themed Macau pop up

Swiss watchmaker Swatch has opened an art-themed pop-up store in Macau, supporting young local artists.

The watch label has collaborated with six artists to showcase rousing canvases to exhibit their inspirations for the Swatch X You at Macau series. They include Vitorino Vong, Tramy Lui, Kay Tung and Kun Lam.

The pop-up store houses an exclusive customised service where customers can choose one of the canvas as the base, colour of the movement, indexes and the mechanism. Customers will then choose a personal 15-character message on the back of the dial to complete the process.

The first eight designed canvases have been launched at the pop-up and the series will be introduced at Venetian Swatch flagship store on March 10.

According to the company, each week will focus its communication on one artist’s contemporary creation, and each will unveil their own canvas. Other live engaging art activities will be held at the shops.
