Amsterdam-based fashion brand, Scotch & Soda, has launched its flagship store in Shanghai’s Xintiandi district, with additional openings planned over the next few months.

The launch is part of Scotch & Soda’s expansion plan in the country where it will open the brand’s first store in the Shanghai Taikoo Li shopping centre. In addition, Scotch & Soda will open two directly operated stores in the Beijing Sanlitun and the Shanghai Reel shopping destinations, taking its store count in China to five by the end of this year’s first half.

“Our new Shanghai flagship store marks an important step in our expansion and growth strategy in China,” said Frederick Lukoff, CEO of Scotch & Soda. “We look forward to bringing more brick-and-mortar locations in key cities this year and provide a multi-channel experience to customers in this promising new market for the brand.”

The opening of the Shanghai flagship store follows the launch of Scotch & Soda’s first digital store on Tmall last year. The China brick-and-mortar store rollout is also part of the brand’s global expansion plan which sees the opening of 15 new stores and seven shops-in-shops across key cities including Mumbai, Perth, Paris, Madrid, Philadelphia, Charlotte and Gothenburg.
