US footwear retailer Foot Locker is set to open its first brick-and-mortar store in Thailand after transferring its operations in Singapore and Malaysia to MAP Active earlier this year.

The opening date has yet to be disclosed, but the store is expected to launch inside Siam Center this September in partnership with MAP Active. The brand is hiring staff for the store.

Foot Locker Thailand will sell footwear and activewear from brands including Vans, Puma, Adidas, Converse, New Balance, and Nike.

Thailand will mark Foot Locker’s fifth market in Southeast Asia, after Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia. The company was in talks with Indian footwear company Metro Brands to expand into India.

The Footlocker Thailand expansion follows the brand’s withdrawal from Hong Kong and Macau in March.

As of January 28, the footwear retailer operated 2714 stores in 29 markets and has 159 franchised stores in the Middle East and Asia. The company aims to raise its annual turnover from US$1 billion to $9.5 billion by 2026.
