Starbucks has established its first community store in Vietnam as part of a 10-year celebration of its entry into the market.
The community store, located on Nguyen Huu Huan Street in Hanoi, aims to assist vocational education for young people in Vietnam, with a percentage of each purchase contributed to training programs in collaboration with non-profit organisation Reach.
In addition, Starbucks Vietnam has selected Ho Mai Ho as its new CEO, succeeding Patricia Marques. The appointment also marks the company’s first Vietnamese chief executive.
Ho has decades of experience in the retail and FMCG sectors, including more than 10 years as director of consumer products for DKSH Vietnam and Cambodia, where he oversaw 40-plus brands.
Starbucks launched Triple Shot Reinvention with Two Pumps earlier this month, a long-term growth strategy for brand elevation, worldwide development, and cost efficiency. The plan was described as the “next step in the re-founding of the company” to provide considerable value to partners, customers, and shareholders.
