Japanese retailer Muji has launched its largest flagship store in India, at the recently opened Jio World Plaza mall in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex.
The store is in partnership with Reliance Brands Limited (RBL) and spans more than 12,000 sqft. The store is also the first to feature a Muji Cafe in India.
The company offers a wide range of things, including furniture, bedding, storage, and clothing, all of which convey the brand’s ethos of “less is more”.
According to the company, the Bandra Kurla Complex location is in the heart of the city and serves as both a business zone and a hub for daily activities.
Jio World Plaza, which was unveiled earlier this month, is part of the Jio World Centre mixed-use development. The retail location spans four stories and 750,000sqft and is home to different international brands including Balenciaga, Dior, and Cartier.
Founded in 1980, Muji has grown to be one of the biggest lifestyle retailers in the world with a mission to create simple, low-cost, good-quality products. The word Muji is an abbreviation for Mujirushi Ryohin, which translates as “no-brand quality goods”.
