French contemporary label IRO sets its sights on Asia

Paris-based fashion brand IRO is set to further expand its presence in Asia, eyeing its debut in Japan and Southeast Asian countries. 

IRO told Inside Retail it is currently in talks with different potential local partners to expand into these markets. The scale and names of the partners have not yet been disclosed. The Southeast Asian markets it aims to venture into includes Vietnam. 

Founded in 2005 by Arik and Laurent Bitton, the brand opened its first store in 2006 in Saint-Germain des Pres. IRO has more than 50 brick-and-mortar stores and 550 points of sale around the world. The brand established a solid presence in China and South Korea with more than 80 stores and points of sale. 

The French fashion label ventured into skiwear earlier this month, launching a capsule of ski pieces and accessories.
