German sportswear label Puma has named Ryokusai Inoue as the new GM of its Japan business, effective immediately.

Inoue succeeds Kohei Hagio, who had been in charge of Puma Japan since 2021. In his new role, Inoue will report directly to the CEO of Puma, Arne Freundt.

Joinning the company in 2015 as director of retail, Inoue has built a “solid commercial foundation” through the company’s owned and operated channels and contributed to the company’s growth in Japan. He returned to Puma after working for a year as country manager of Tesla Japan.

“I’m glad that Inoue is returning to Puma to lead this important market,” said Freundt. “With his vast experience in retail and his understanding of Puma’s culture, products and sales, Inoue is the right candidate to take Puma Japan to the next level.”

Earlier this month, the sports apparel retailer appointed Daniel Pustina as the GM of its Oceania business, effective January 2 next year.
