Milan-based luxury house Moschino has named former Loewe’s designer Adrian Appiolaza as its new creative director.

Before Moschino, Appiolaza worked alongside J W Anderson as Loewe’s women’s ready-to-wear design director. The designer also formerly worked with Clare Waight Keller at Chloé.

As Moschino’s latest creative director, Appiolaza will oversee the women’s, men’s and accessories collections of the maison, reporting to Massimo Ferretti, the executive chairman of Moschino’s parent company Aeffe Group.

“With his arrival at Moschino, Adrian brings with him a unique wealth of experience, creativity and knowledge of the history of fashion that will be instrumental to write a wonderful new chapter in the adventure of the brand founded by Franco Moschino,” said Ferretti.

“I was immediately struck by the explosive creativity of Adrian, a personality full of energy and enthusiasm, elements that have always distinguished the history of the Moschino brand.”

Appiolaza will showcase his first collection with the house, Fall/Winter 2024 Women’s Collection, next month at the Museo della Permanente during Milan Fashion Week.

Appiolaza succeeded Davide Renne, who moved to Moschino from Gucci to replace Jeremy Scott last year but passed away nine days after joining the house.
