Starting March 26, members of Coupang’s premium subscription service, Wow, will be able to order food through the company’s delivery platform, Coupang Eats, without paying any delivery fees, the company announced.
In a bid to alleviate the burden of delivery costs for consumers, Coupang Eats will introduce an “unlimited free delivery” service for Wow members. This marks a shift in the benefits offered to Wow members, transitioning from discounts on food prices to unlimited free delivery.
By eliminating the delivery fee, which has often been a hurdle for customers ordering food, Coupang aims to reduce the cost burden for households while providing restaurants and eateries with an opportunity to boost their sales without incurring additional expenses.
The free delivery service from Coupang Eats will have no limits on the number of orders, order amounts, or distance for delivery. Customers will also be able to combine the free delivery perk with other coupons or discounts.
Wow members can choose between the free delivery option and the premium “one-stop delivery” service, which offers optimized delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals.
The Wow benefits for Coupang Eats will initially be available in the greater Seoul metropolitan area, other major cities, Chungcheong, Gangwon, Gyeongsang, and Jeolla provinces, as well as Jeju City on Jeju Island. Coupang plans to gradually expand the service coverage nationwide, enabling more customers and restaurants across the country to enjoy the Wow perks.
In addition to unlimited free food delivery, Wow members also have access to Coupang’s Rocket Delivery, Rocket Fresh and Dawn Delivery services, as well as the streaming platform Coupang Play. They also enjoy exclusive member-only services and special discounts.
