Starbucks has unveiled its largest Greener Store in Thailand, located at the newly opened One Bangkok complex, marking its fourth flagship in the country.

A Greener Store is an outlet that follows a standard on water conservation, energy efficiency, and waste reduction.

Emmy Kan, president, Starbucks Asia Pacific, said the brand aims to honour its environmental promise to give more than take.

“This milestone store is a testament to the strength of our partnership with Coffee Concepts Thailand and our shared journey toward a resource-positive future,” said Kan.

Spanning over 860sqm, the two-story Starbucks Reserve One Bangkok is designed sustainably, featuring the country’s first comprehensive in-store recycling area, energy-efficient systems, and sustainable materials.

In addition, there’s a condiment area that encourages customers to rinse leftover drinks, clean their cups, and dispose of waste properly, promoting responsible disposal practices.

Beyond its environmental initiatives, the cafe celebrates Thai coffee culture and the natural landscapes of Northern Thailand, where coffee is grown.

A “Tree Top Canopy” design concept symbolises the coffee-growing environment, with the ground floor representing the roots of coffee trees and the upper level providing a serene canopy-like seating area.

The store is also filled with artwork by local artists, including a ceiling textile installation by Ease Studio and paintings by Pavisa Meesrenon (Pabaja), showcasing the biodiversity of Thailand’s coffee-growing regions.

Thanasak Kulrattanarak, store development director for Starbucks Thailand, said the rich coffee culture of Northern Thailand inspired the design.

“We have created a space that reflects the beauty and traditions of our roots while serving as a welcoming haven in the heart of Bangkok,” said Kulrattanarak. “This store embodies our vision of connecting people through exceptional coffee and beautiful spaces, where every detail – from the layout to the artwork – tells a story of local culture and sustainability.”

Starbucks said it aims to certify 10,000 Greener Stores globally by next year and reach a 50 per cent reduction in carbon emissions, water usage, and landfill waste by 2030.
