Singapore’s Jewel Changi Airport (Jewel) recorded more than 80 million footfalls last year – a milestone since its opening in 2019. Visitations soared 10 per cent year-on-year and sales by 5 per cent.

Overseas travellers accounted for more than 35 per cent of total visitors, marking a 7 per cent increase compared to the previous year. These tourists’ top countries of origin were China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Australia, and the Philippines.

Jewel has more than 260 boutiques and restaurants. Last year,  it opened its doors to more than 30 new brands, including a Charles & Keith flagship, Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck, Treasures Yi Dian Xin, Montale Paris, and Pop Mart.

Several brands also made their Singapore debut through Jewel, including Hakka Yu, Nai Xue, and Royal Host.

James Fong, CEO, Jewel Changi Airport Development, said the company is encouraged by its strong performance, despite a soft retail climate.

“This was only possible with close collaboration from our tenant partners and business partners,” said Fong.

He added that to ensure continued success, Jewel aims to support the businesses through expanding their brand presence and introducing new retail experiences.

“This year, Jewel’s visitors can look forward to a myriad of new brands, including exciting new-to-Singapore concepts and flagship stores,” he concluded.
