JD.com has opened its first physical JD Mall in Hong Kong, kicking off an expansion plan that could see up to eight stores open across the city over the next three years.
Located in Wan Chai, the 30,000sqft store is the first JD Mall outside Mainland China and one of Hong Kong’s largest specialist retailers of home appliances and consumer electronics.
The opening follows JD.com’s announcement last year that it was seeking a Hong Kong site for its flagship offline retail concept, which combines product displays, interactive experiences and after-sales services. More than 30 JD Mall stores currently operate across Mainland China.
As part of its growth strategy, JD.com plans to open six to eight additional JD Mall locations across Hong Kong, with future stores expected in districts such as Sha Tin, Mong Kok, and Tuen Mun.
The new outlet offers a broad range of products, from home appliances and consumer electronics to smart home systems, AI-powered devices and robotics. The company said the store follows a “sourced in Hong Kong, sold in Hong Kong” approach, supported by local suppliers and products tailored to local market requirements.
A JD Mall spokesperson described Hong Kong as a strategic gateway to the Greater Bay Area, citing its mature consumer market and established retail ecosystem.
“JD Mall will draw on JD.com’s robust supply chain capabilities, digital operations expertise and experience-led retail model, while fully aligning with local compliance standards and consumer preferences,” the spokesperson said.
“Through our local operations, we will bring high-quality products, innovative retail experiences and great service to Hong Kong consumers, while contributing to the continued diversification and upgrading of the local retail sector.”
The company said it also plans to expand omnichannel retail services in the city and strengthen collaboration with other businesses within the JD.com ecosystem.
