Amouage plans Asian expansion

Oman-based Amouage plans to take its brand to Asia as part of its worlwide expansion strategy.

“We are actively pursuing partners in Japan, Korea and China in the Far East, and South Africa, Argentina, Chile and Brazil in the southern hemisphere,” said CEO David Crickmore.

Next year’s expansion plans will include Asia stores in Singapore, Bangkok and Jakarta and Middle East stores in Doha, Dubai, Riyadh and Abu Dhabi.

“We are also keeping a close eye on countries that are in their infancy as far as luxury retailing is concerned, and assessing the right time to enter those markets,” Crickmore added.

Amouage is an Omani fragrance brand founded 28 years ago by Sayyid Hamad bin Hamoud Al-Busaid on the request of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the ruler of the Sultanate of Oman.

Amouage is currently available in 52 countries worldwide.
