‘Automated’ restaurants launched in India

An automated restaurants have been launched in India – boasting food served in 90 seconds.

Atchayam Foodbox was launched in Chennai, India, and was established by Satish Chamyvelumani to serve people on the go.

Atchayam Foodbox serves everything from light tiffin to complete meal combo packs from renowned restaurants including Adyar Ananda Bhavan, Aasife and Brothers Biriyani, Moti Mahal, Amaravathi, Kaaraikudi and Mr Chows.

Customers can order food from their preferred restaurants using a tablet and pay using credit or debit cards or cash. The food will then be served to them on a conveyor belt from the counter of Atchayam Foodbox.

“It took us three years to create and develop this idea. Very soon we will be taking this concept to other cities,” said Chamyvelumani in a statement.

“I am confident that every aspect of Foodbox will be thoroughly enjoyed and this model will take customer experience to an all new level,” he added.

There are currently two Atchayam Foodboxes in Chennai, with another four to be added by 2015.
