Theme and interior design for New DNA Shopping Mall in Foshan was in the hands of
Hong Kong architectural practice Leigh & Orange (L&O).
In the heart of the Chancheng district, the six-storey retail development covers 159,000sqm and connects with the MTR and other public transport. It also offers F&B, entertainment and attractions.
Construction company Sun Fook Kong Group appointed L&O to handle the design work.
“The unique selling point of this shopping mall is its marine-themed interiors – our designers were given free rein to explore their creativity and let their imagination go wild,” says L&O director of interior design Ricky Hung.
Its design incorporated marine elements in key features, such as a giant slide resembling a lighthouse, and a full-scale blue whale sculpture suspended in mid-air.
Founded in 1874, L&O works throughout China, Hong Kong and the Middle East.
