Electrolux Group has appointed Bernard Chong as its head of the Apac region, effective June 1. 

Chong joins from Dyson, where he most recently served as president of Greater China, overseeing operations and leading a team of more than 1000 employees. 

Based in Bangkok, Chong will report directly to Electrolux Group CEO Yannick Fierling. 

“I’m happy to have Bernard joining the group,” said Fierling. “Over his career, he’s helped build brands and launched successful turnarounds, using his approach of combining market insights, data-driven strategy and an uncompromising focus. That expertise will be put to good use here. It will be exciting to work together with Bernard and have him driving the region.” 

Chong’s career spans senior leadership roles across Asia and Europe, including at Dyson, spanning markets in Southeast Asia, Portugal, and Japan. He also worked with Sony Mobile Communications and Nike Southeast Asia. 

Last year, Indian retailer Reliance Industries bought Electrolux’s Kelvinator, an electronics seller of refrigerators, air conditioners and washing machines.
